Drake wandered around Sunnydale Town, his jaw dropped and his eyes constantly darting about. After the long ride across the ocean from Kanto, he was more than eager to see some Pokemon. Not that he had not seen quite a few of the fabulous creatures crossing the sea, but he couldn't get close to the majority of them. But now he was on land, his feet able to carry him wherever he wanted to go.
Pokemon flittered and fluttered about the place, and he seemed almost as if he would get whiplash. He just didn't have enough eyes to take it all in, but that didn't stop him from trying. Some of the Pokemon he had seen before, while others were new to him. They all amazed him, however, and he strolled with a sketchbook in one hand and a pencil in the other, skimming across the surface of the paper. He drew almost absently, his hand moving of its own accord to form a quick sketch of the creatures he saw.
He would have kept walking, and missed the lab entirely. However, he remembered why he was in this particular town and forced himself out of his trance. He slipped the sketchbook and pencil away, taking a deep breath as he noticed the building in the distance. It had to be the lab. "Well, here it goes... Will I be able to choose just one....?" he voiced aloud.
He knew that he would have a difficult time as he crossed the threshold into the famed lab. He had heard that they had a good selection of Pokemon... yet, even with the customary starters he had researched, he would have found himself at a loss to choose. But still, he wanted a Pokemon companion, a friend to share adventures with. So onward to the lab it was.
He walked on, approaching the building and knocking on the door. He buried his reservations and let his enthusiasm take over, a broad grin lighting his face. Today was the day.

Drake didn't mind the wait, actually preferring to have some spare time to gather his thoughts. Not to mention he had more opportunity to look around at all the Pokemon about the place. After the door was opened, he forced his attention to turn to the woman professor, giving her a bright and cheerful smile.
"Thanks! I'm not really sure which Pokemon to choose though... I mean, there are so many... how could I ever choose one?" his voice took on an edge of panic suddenly. He glanced around the inside of the building, noting a few Pokemon lounging about there. He smiled at them, momentarily distracted. "I just want a good friend... but.... I don't really even know the names of that many Pokemon."
